French Bulldog – The most fashionable dog in Europe in the 20th century
Big Dog | July 21st, 2010
The first “fashion dogs” appeared in the 1880’s, when Pointers and English Setter started to become more and more popular. Later on the German Vizsla, Dachsund, Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, Borzoi, Fox Terrier and finally the Collies. Having these dogs was only possible for the most wealthy ones, especially, when the French Bulldog-fever started: they were extremely popular and pricey from Western Europe all they way to Russia.
